Salomon Torres Retires | Brewers Need to Throw More Darts
Closing pitcher Salomon Torres retired to day again putting the Milwaukee Brewers in a tough spot. With Torres retiring the Brewers like last year will need to find a new quality closer for the 2009 season. Last season Doug Melvin threw darts at the board hoping one of them would stick and he would find a quality closer. Some throws like Eric Gagne at around 10 million a year almost missed the wall entirely. Salmon Torres was the dart that not only stuck but hit the bulls eye. Salomon Torres hinted at retiring when the Brewers acquired him last off-season, however pitched his twelfth and apparently last season in 2008.
